We are proud to bring you the special story of Navy veteran Taryn and her DCD Assistance Dog, Gigi.
Taryn received Gigi to assist her with managing PTSD and related depression, stress and anxiety symptoms. In recent years, Taryn has also been supported by Gigi helping her achieve her goals as a para-athlete following the diagnosis of a rare retinal disease that has resulted in vision loss.
Taryn is an Invictus Games Team Captain and Gold Medallist. She is also an aspiring Paralympian/Para Biathlete (VI), representing Australia as a Para Biathlete at the winter games in Canada.
