Our Purpose is to serve those who protect us, reinvesting all profit back into banking products and services that are tailored to meet the needs of ADF families, while also remaining competitive enough for all Australians who support the Defence community.
You don’t need to be in the army, navy or air force to join Defence Bank. If you are a supporter of those in the ADF and the Defence community, then you are invited to make us your bank - for whatever you need, for whatever’s ahead.
We understand that no single day is the same in the ADF.
One day you’re settling into off-base life in Townsville, the next you’re packing up your family and being posted to Albury-Wodonga. Some days you’re sharing a meal with your mates at the barracks, some nights you’re sharing a bunk on an attack-class submarine One moment you’re planning the birth of your first child, the next you’re talking to them on video call while on deployment.
It’s a life like no other. That’s why you need a bank that’s as adaptive as you are.
A bank that knows how to get the most out of your military career and beyond.
We count on those in the Defence community. And they can count on us. We are people-led, technology enabled, with a mighty collection of passionate people behind our banking products and services.
Our app is one of the highest-rated apps in Australia, consistently rated higher than the big banks. User-friendly and packed full of features, it's the simple way to take control of your finances on the go.

The Defence Bank Foundation is an independent charity established to help injured, wounded and disadvantaged serving and former Defence members and their families. All funds raised benefit Defence Community Dogs - a program that provides assistance dogs to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related conditions.
We stand behind other groups and charities such as Military Life, who support ADF spouses, and events held by the LGBTIQ+ charity DEFGLIS - in particular the annual Military Pride Ball.
No matter where your ADF journey takes you, leaving Defence doesn’t mean you need to switch to a civilian bank. Even as an ex-ADF member we still look want after you and your family. That's why we strive to provide the highest standards of service and the most relevant products for our members, no matter what stage of life they find themselves in.
