Waiting around for a home loan approval can be frustrating, but there is another way.
Defence Bank has made turnaround times on home loan approvals a priority and pointed out that it is well ahead of some of Australia’s biggest banks.
46-year-old Mark Gill is one such example of a member who has moved to Defence Bank and been impressed by the speed and service.
Mr Gill recently purchased a property in the Canberra suburb of Banks, switching from NAB.
“We had been saving for three years,” Mr Gill who is a member of the RAAF ground crew at Brindabella Park said.
“Things got done very quickly. I discussed my situation with Defence Bank and we went ahead and did the loan. I had been told I needed an extra ten thousand dollars, but once Defence Bank reviewed my circumstances, there was no mucking around and it was just straightforward.”
Mr Gill who also has family car loans and a credit card with Defence Bank, says he and his wife were expecting a different experience when borrowing money.
“The staff are just friendly and easy-going. They’re all genuine and there for the customer. I thought because we were borrowing money from a bank it would be a very rigid process but instead there was flexibility. We switched from NAB and clearly haven’t looked back.
“I was stoked with the service I got, it really was focusing on the solution and making it as less stressful as possible for everybody concerned.”
