Defence Community Dogs - David and Winnie share their story.

Some time after being found wandering the streets by Labrador Rescue in Canberra, Winnie was placed under the care of an inmate at the Bathurst Correctional Centre Honour House. There she was trained as a PTSD Assistance Dog and eventually partnered with ex-RAAF member David. This is their story.

Defence Community Dogs trains rescued dogs to become Assistance Dogs for Defence Force Veterans.

If you'd like to find out more or you know a veteran who would benefit from one of these dogs, visit Defence Community Dogs.
