Defence Bank today announced CEO David Marshall has resigned after six years with the bank to pursue a new opportunity as CEO with Ultradata Australia Limited, a leading supplier of core banking solutions for the banking and consumer finance industry.
Defence Bank Chair Bruce Murphy acknowledged Marshall’s tenure.

“David has played a pivotal role in steering our bank through his unwavering focus on our members, and dedication to continuous improvement. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in the growth of the bank, and we are grateful for the positive impact he has had.”
The Board has appointed Defence Bank Chief Member and Growth Officer, Marnie Fletcher to the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer, with effect today.
The Board is confident in Marnie’s ability to lead Defence Bank with her wealth of experience and expertise and through her leadership we will continue to thrive through our member focus, commitment to continuous improvement and our highly engaged team.
The Board has a process in place to reach a decision on a permanent CEO appointment which is expected to conclude over the next three to four months.
